Energia

 

Energia is a gas & electricity company who required a digital consulting partner to win new customers in a competitive energy switching market.

The challenge

The challenge was to support Energia, as a new entrant into the highly competitive energy switching market, with a digital strategy and roadmap of deliverables to acquire new retail customers.  The challenge was to deliver a progressive user-centric solution, achieving high conversion rates and strong brand experience, on legacy back-end infrastructure that facilitated rapid rollout of customer offers by Energia’s sales, propositions and marketing teams.

The strategy

The initial output was a strategy document and associated road-map for of a consumer-facing retail and business switching sales programme.  This was based on several stakeholder workshops to understand Energia’s commercial requirements and how these were to be translated online. Strata3 then provided advisory services on best-practice for user-experience, technology platforms, database design, solution architecture and web services integration with SalesForce and the internal legacy Oracle CC&B & SAP systems.
 

The implementation

Our UX team researched utilities switching websites internationally.  Our development team worked closely with Energia’s sister company; Power NI to ensure seamless integration with the legacy platforms.  The site facilitates high-volume application and sign-up, whilst allowing the sales and marketing teams to build pricing offers via SalesForce, to be presented on the front-end website.  Our solution allows customer information to be passed through to the pre-existing Oracle Customer Care & Billing CRM.  We deployed Kentico EMS as the web and marketing platform.

The results

  • Energia has captured 11% of the switching market since launch of the site in 2014. 

  • User behaviour and metrics via Google analytics and GTM illustrate a highly performing and converting web solution.

  • Energia were already supplying over 65,000 Irish businesses both in ROI & NI.

  • Strata3 have now provided a set of toolsets that has managed to cater for existing and new retail and business customers on integrated platforms including WCMS, CRM and SalesForce.
