Beauchamps Solicitors: A Case study


Beauchamps selected Strata3 as a digital partner and tasked Strata3 with the challenge of creating a website to showcase their heritage, culture, people and extensive areas of expertise across a fully responsive site.
 
The challenge was to make this site engaging, interesting and aesthetically pleasing while still maintaining a feeling of professionalism throughout. We wanted a look and feel that was modern, clean, and reflected the standard of Beauchamps’ work itself

Our brand and heritage had to be respected but we wanted to focus more on our people than our firm brand because, in our view, clients hire lawyers not law firms. The team captured our brief instinctively and gave us a creative representation of what we wanted. I can’t think of how the experience could have been improved for us.

Strategy

Strata3 worked closely with the Beauchamps management team to develop the new online channel with the aim of establishing a stronger online brand presence and associated traffic.  To meet the challenge Strata3 have provided Beauchamps with a total digital solution including a complete online marketing, PPC/ AdWords, analytics, hosting and support solution to drive and measure the traffic to the site.


Implementation

Our UX team researched other legal practices and carried out an thorough analysis of their websites before starting the design process for Beauchamps.
A big challenge with this project was linking the partners listed on the site to the areas of practice, and ensuring that this UX was seamless and easy to navigate. The site is fully responsive and is built for flexibility and future growth.

When designing the site, a big priority was introducing real world imagery of real people working there in order to give the site its own personality, and to reflect the importance of the partners and associates working there.

The deep green colour prevalent across the site is representative of Beauchamps’ long history and deep entrenchment in the Irish Legal landscape. A key objective of this design was to get across a sense of history and heritage with a modern twist. The Angle motif present across the site is a play on both Beauchamps’ branding, as well as the architecture of their modern office building.
A complex UX task facing our designers was deciding on the filters and search conventions for the ‘Our people’ page. Similarly the publications/ recent work/ news/ events and videos are aggregated into the ‘What’s New’ section with a deep filtering, sorting and search functionality in order to make it easy to find articles.

The site was build using Drupal CMS version 8, a powerful Open Source CMS and Framework.
